Honestly Velen not being a blind light fanatic is more in line with his development through Legion so I'm happy if thats what they're doing here.

Velen really had a fantastic arc with Illidan, and that sigh in the end of legion was a perfect conclusion to his story as a whole.
Velen, Illidan, and Gul'dan were the best parts of Legion. Don't @ me.
