We technically already have Vol'jin back. Thrall just came out of retirement, Gazlowe officially joined the Horde and now leads the goblins. Horde is getting treated pretty well almost immediately after Sylvanas is gone.

Technically, yeah, but whether he comes back in-full or simply goes back to being dead after SL tho remains to be seen and Thrall also “came out of retirement” for the end of MoP and WoD, so I’m understandably skeptical whether he’s sticking around for realzies this time.

Well, his whole arc in BfA was that he doesn't get to hide or retire when his faction needs him. That was Saurfang's last whole thing with Thrall and I can't the guy doing that again with Saurfang's last words to him running through his head.
