One thing I love and still love about Blizzard Entertainment is its portrayal of orcs. They were the first that portrayed Orcs as not just monsters who want death and destruction but as people. Warcraft is what made me love orcs not LotR or any other franchise.pic.twitter.com/M1yszGDpzb

I've met people who shit on Warcraft Orcs and say that LoTR are better. More commonly I've met Warhammer folks who say that but I don't really get them.

Agreed. So much so that when I hear the word "orc" i immidiately think of Warcraft orcs instead of LotR ones. Rest of the races can't claim it for me but orcs definitely gets it.

Indeed, despite what some reddit alliance shills claim, the ret on that made wow Orcs what they are is vastly more interesting than simply portraying them as regular fantasy orcs

I like how WoW has taken basic fantasy characters(dwarves, elves, orcs, trolls, etc) and have them unique characteristics and goals that move them away from how they’re usually interpreted and have interesting and unique backstories(not just grr orcs are monsters, humans good)

I feel like the players that call Warcraft Orcs savages and say Garrosh did nothing wrong seriously are alliance players who watched too much LOTR and view the orcs in LOTR as the pinpoint of what all orcs are

Definitively, Blizzard drew a nicer portrait to the orc people that Tolkien did, for sure. :D Still, I found that Blizzard's orcs are lacking some "fun". They are a little bit too serious. ^^
