Grom still loved his son. Magni eventually loved his daughter. Genn is haunted by his child's death and wants to protect his daughter. Daelin is a fucking asshole who forced his daughter in a position where she had to choose peace or him.
Grom left his son in the care of the elders of Garadar when his son was going through with what could basically kill him. Then Grom got trapped on another planet and assumed his very own planet and child were wiped out. I think Grom gets the excuse here.

I definitely think that if Grom was alive during TBC he would've gone with Thrall to meet his son in Outlands and he'd be very happy and excited over it. ...I honestly think that would be a fun video to do, "What if Grommash didn't die?"
