I was more of a Telltale guy anyways when it came to the post-apocalyptic world with zombies and father figures That being said I am sorry for the 7-year wait for The Last of Us fans were treated to. Nobody deserved that.pic.twitter.com/SkvwDcGXkz

The story is actually really good. Most of the hate is unjustified imo... either whiners who can't handle representation or people mad that a character... well, isn't around. It's safe to say that the game isn't for someone easily bothered by fiction.

Keeping to spoilers here, so be warned. I've been going the leaks and the reviews of people and I don't honestly agree with the message of letting go of the killer of your father regardless of their pain or suffering. That's not good storytelling. That's hella dumb.

It's only hella dumb if you don't experience the journey and just go off of angry gamers. I think A LOT of people made up their minds before the game came out, and they went into it WANTING to hate it. It's easy to hate something if you want to.

And a lot of 'internet' reviewers are infinitely less trustworthy than any media source tbh. Your angry joes of the world etc. watching a few different 'reviewers' stream the game and half the time they're not paying attention... you can't give a game a fair review that way.

They really did the main character dirty regardless. They did it pretty early on in a very gruesome manner of all things. Using Varian Wrynn as a good example here they didn't do him dirty and still had him do some amazing things at the start of a game.

Apples and oranges. That character was never invincible. He was human. Older. A shotgun to the leg isn't going to be something anyone bounces back from immediately. Sad and emotional? Yes. But entirely fitting the tone of the world built in Part 1.

Going to use Varian as an example here again. WoW while nowhere close to the realism as the Last of Us or other games had Varian Wrynn still meet his end at the very end. But they did it in a way of showing he was still a badass before he died. Not with this game.

Again, it wouldn't fit. Him surviving means there's no story. The whole story hinges on his demise. There is no one else whose death would cause Ellie to go that ballistic on. People are too fixated on the death, they're failing to appreciate everything around it. The aftermath.

You still have the character die but you have him go out guns blazing just before he dies, you can give him a death he deserves by doing that. Jiraiya, Broxigar, Lee Evertt, the list goes on how to do death well. I'm not even a fan of this franchise and I'm pissed at his death.
