I haven't done a hot take in a while but here goes: When it comes to villains and antagonistic characters in general - you don't always have to spare them or redeem them. Sometimes the fun of having a villain is them being villains and paying for it.

I still feel like him being redeemed just kind of feels icky considering the sheer amount of bad that came out of all of it. It's complicated for sure but idk, I prefer we never really run into him at all but we'll see.

I think we are going to see him again but I hope it's for the right reasons. I was fine with Illidan's "redemption" (which he really didn't have one honestly) because he was never about that life anyways. Arthas would really need to vary.

My take on Arthas, based on what I've read, is that he was a spoiled, impulsive kid who from the very beginning thought he knew better than everyone else. He embraced evil/corruption (whichever) because he 'knew' that his mission was more important than anything else. Let him rot
