It even shows, when you go and fight Nazgrim you can tell he knows what he is doing is wrong, he even lets Saurfang and Thrall pass, but he also knows he can’t go back on his oath to the Warchief which is why he chooses to fight us knowing he would die.
Nazgrim is a true character of tragedy, loyalty, and friendship. That right there is a good quality character. Nathanos is laughable and I'm sorry to anyone who likes him but I don't think I'll feel any sorrow over his eventual death.

If anything they’ll probably use his death as some sort of character development for Sylvanas. I personally hope sylvanas is gone after shadowlands her story ended after icecrown and it should have stayed that way imho.

I don't mind if Sylvanas is gone after shadowlands. The story of every good character should have an ending. I only expect her to come away victorious, having achieved her goals. And then they can both be together forever.
