We've never seen Anduin use Power Word: Shield a single time in the actual game or cutscene. He used it once during the short story and that's it. Remember when he fought a Dreadlord and didn't use Shalamayne to kill it? HE USED MAGIC.
I remember when they were having Anduin learn how to use the sword in a fight against I believe Genn. I really wanted either Muradin or Turalyon to teach him how to use a sword or wield the light along with said sword.

There are several scenes where they show him trying to fight and him being bad. They do it again in Before the Storm but then still just have him fighting stuff with a sword instead of magic. How can HotS get Anduin better than WoW? It blows my mind.

Hell I had ASSUMED the entire point was as another parallel to Arthas who was a bad fighter but HAD THE LIGHT. I guess not because now he's just a generic buff dude who fights a tank with his sword.
