Man, I wish they'd stop retconning important stuff like this... Thanks for the info, BfA ruined so much that I lost focus of that... and the lore was my main thing that kept me in azeroth since 2008. That and professions
Can't really say I agree with that but that's me. I personally like that they included this tidbit because it makes the Helm and the Sword far more important and it also means that they just couldn't make another Lich King. The Lich King is more unique this way.

They couldve pulled something out of their arse to explain how the burning legion got the armor and the sword from the shadowlands...like when they did raise undead back during the War of the acients they ripped a rift...you get what i mean? its too early for thinking...

The Legion still were the ones who crowned Ner'zhul and made him the Lich King. The only thing that was changed was that they weren't the ones who made it. It's implied they stole both items from the Shadowlands or were given them willingly.
