This is looking to be an Unpopular Opinion: I think a Time Skip in WoW isn't a bad thing. I think that the story is in great need of a jump after everything that's happened every year for Azeroth. Cities, villages, forests, lands can be healed. Unions can be born. Etc.

I could handle a year or two but I like the game the way it is. I love all the story characters and the current lore. If they did a big skip, I just feel like I wouldn’t care anymore because I lost what I had always connected with.

It depends how big of a time skip they do. I'd be fine with at most a 5-7 year time skip but anything more than that might be too much. The scariest thing they could do is a reverse Thousand Year War on us. I don't want a 1000 year time skip. Yikes.
