Let's just give all the love stories to all the characters in WoW. Finally, give Rexxar someone like Garona or Orhan Ogreblade.

Hard disagree. It would be like the game introducing aggra as an NPC in one quest line. And then they put out a short story where they’re making out. It read like twilight to me, especially after reading in a second time.
I do think it could've been done better in a longer form of storytelling but I also think there was foreshadowing for the two.

A better example of it, than what I gave, would be if suddenly anduin and taelia end shadows rising as a couple after Having no scenes together whatsoever other than a single line of dialogue. And now, I’m definitely afraid that’s going to happen.

I wouldn't want that. Anduin and Taelia would be better to like... start showing in each other? And then over time they eventually get together. I always feel like it should be a celebration when two characters finally get together.
