I'm open to the idea of the Factions being able to play together just so long as the Horde and Alliance aren't removed in the process. Covenants at most could do that temporarily maybe but at the same time it'd be odd to have characters be against their fellow factions too.

At this point, factions do not serve any purpose, besides having two artifical blocks working antagonistic. But what we saw, especially inside the Horde, is that Ideas and views on how a group can be organized, which morals to follow, are way stronger than factions itself

And its not uncommon for the people of their own faction fighting each other. For Night Elfs it were Satyrs, for Orcs the remaining Blackrocks and Humans had several. Right now, the Factions became a huge comglomerate of races with a very thin line of connection

I personally am just not a fan of the Factions being dissolved. I still like the Horde and its characters. I actually would find it to be a bad take to dissolve the factions just so that they can work together. Nothing is stopping them from do that currently.

But the Horde and it characters are not gone either. Those are not heroes because they are Horde, they are Heroes beacuse of their actions, because of their believes and Ideas and they are certainly not gone if the factions would not exist

I again just do not like the idea of you as a player or character being pushed away from your faction because you're told to do so. I didn't like it in Legion and most certainly wouldn't like it after Shadowlands. It should be the player's decision if they want to break away.

Hence why you would have a choice. We had already the groundworks in BFA with Loyalist and Rebels. Non the less, how it is now? Right now I am forced to join a faction if I want to play a race and have to stick to everything said faction does. I am rather forced now

Right now I can only choose two rails, where if one does a bad choice, which goes against my character or ideas, I have to stick with it, because, well my race is bound to this group by default. There is no choice at all there and I am forced to do anything.

That's existed in the game for a long while. BfA started the groundwork for player choice as you said so they can definitely apply that in the future. But I don't think they would need to dissolve the Factions to do that. It would be more like a divide if anything.

As said, I dont want to dissolve, I rather want them to evolve, to allow the playerside more freedom of choice. Hence why I pledge the Idea aspect more than the Idenity aspect. To evolve it into a conflict of "How we want to live" and not "We want revange for XYZ"

That I can get behind a lot more. All I want is the Factions to continue in some shape or form. I was very much not a fan of the Factions taking a backseat and instead a Class hall taking the front. I'm a tad worried about Shadowlands in this regard.
