Like I said, all Blizz has to do is deploy their staple trick for these situations and have one bad apple representative for the Horde scare them off to their new allies and then spend 20 years telling Horde fans there are no Ogre tribes left big enough to warrant joining them.

I get what you're trying to say or parody to. But Ogres are at their own core a very Horde themed race. Even if the Horde were to drive them away I couldn't see the Alliance inviting them in. There's been so many times where the Ogres have joined the Horde on and off again too.

They're a Horde core race until Blizz ass pulls their tried and true storytelling subversion trope. That's the point, really. Nothing is tried and true that Blizzard won't subvert or retcon on a whim.

I don't really see Ogres joining the Alliance happening at all. I feel like the whole "subvert thing" was a one time thing with Nightborne and Void Elves. Which was also to give those players a chance at playing on the other faction.

Its not about what you can see. Blizzard has shown over 20 years that absolutely nothing is sacred. You will not see it until they do it, and then the fans of it will defend that decision to the death. Fans of high elves learned this lesson young.

That seems a bit too pessimistic for my liking. High Elves basically died the moment Blood Elves and Void Elves were born. I think Ogres are on a different level merely because they're not really related to any of the existing races we currently have. (1)

They're also one of the only races that haven't been made playable yet by Blizzard that keeps on being represented still in the Horde. Whether that be with the Mag'har, Ogre Outposts, or as friendly NPCs in the Horde. They've not really done anything recently to dispute that.

These are all points that were once applicable to high elves. Horde Ogres would die the moment they went Alliance. As left field as you believe it feels right now, all Blizzard has to do is do it. It is what they have done in the past -

And you demonstrate here your willingness to go along with that action once they've committed to it. You will argue for Alliance Ogres when Blizz makes it canon. It will all make sense in retrospect.

There's less evidence going for the Ogres joining the Alliance though. This is almost on the exact same level when people honestly believed that Mag'har were going to be an Alliance race. It was utter nonsense. And it was proven to be false in the end.
