I'm very aware the world and the lore matter (it's why I play) but WoW has always had the trouble of telling new players or the new lore in certain areas. Sylvanas is gone and therefore there's going to be changes made.

So because they’ve struggled, now you’re cool with just ignoring the past?

It's not about ignoring the past. It's about getting over it and not resorting to those kinds of tendencies anymore.

That’s an immense disservice to a series with 25+ years of stories

The story is going to change. Certain things are going to remain in-game but it makes sense that they're changing these summaries with those changes.

That would track- If we weren’t immediately coming off a massive war in which the Horde (and the Forsaken) committed mass murder and genocide. Admit that not bringing it up AT ALL is weird

Not bringing it up at all is weird. But I don't think these summaries are intended to tell the player what's been going on for the past expansions. I think they're merely supposed to tell new players and old what these races are going to be going forward.

And again, that’s a disservice to the 25 years of stories in the world It’s hard to talk about the future while ignoring the last

It's not really ignoring the past. Again. The Forsaken should be making changes to their whole thing. Imagine you go in to play as one as they were described previously and they're acting the way I just talked about. It's going to be confusing regardless.

It is explicitly ignoring the past. The Forsaken have had one leader throughout their entire history. She JUST left. And she doesn’t even get mentioned. Even the new Blood Elf intro mentions a history of tragedy and betrayal. So the forsaken intro ignoring theirs is ridiculous.

It can still be worded better. Perhaps it should say instead, "After years of struggles with both the living and themselves, the Forsaken strive to right their wrongs by assisting the living."

That’d be fine, but that’s decidedly more than a re-wording. That’s the problem.
