Blizzard doesn't hate Orcs. ...That is extremely not true. Like... Varok Saurfang was given 4 cinematics dedicated strictly to his story and it was god tier quality. I'd argue Orcs are probably Blizzards' favorite race honestly.pic.twitter.com/5vZvBYVNMF

I am admittedly extremely bitter about how far the orcs/Horde have strayed from WC3 & TBC concepts, so take my criticism with a grain of salt. Haven't really enjoyed anything orc-related since MoP when I thought they were wrapping up the "bad orcs resist Thrall's idealism" story.

never forget the Durotan Lord of War, where the blood rage was turned from a result of demonic corruption into just something every orc had. WoD was a mistake for orc lore

Anger is apart of everyone and everything. The demons simply looked at that and dialed it to an 11 with Pit Lord blood. Warlords had its moments of "what" but this really didn't bother me that much.

red-eye bloodfury was explicitly established as a consequence of demonic corruption. an orc can be angry without their eyes turning red. detaching red eyes from demonic corruption cheapens the old orc story, regardless of what WoD replaced it with

the old orc story that players like Vaknosh and I fell in love with. it's no longer about noble savages with a history of doing very bad things but regretting it. It's just savages with anger issues doing very bad things and expecting people to just forget about it. BfA Sylvanas?

see:Reign of Chaos orc campaign ending cinematic. there was a reason the red flare of Grom's eyes was a powerful moment. He was the first, and does his best to make up for that Now all orcs have the red glow. Grom's sacrifice doesn't matter, because any orc could have done that

And one of my main personal problems being that a big driving factor of lore since Cata is "Horde does an evil again!" as the inciting factor for pretty much every expansion. It was neat when MoP seemed like the narrative conclusion of it, but now it's just awful.

Battle for Azeroth's was more about finishing up Sylvanas' Story with the Horde. Yes there was moments where the Horde was bad but it also had plenty of moments where the Horde did good.

The Horde literally committed genocide on Teldrassil 3 or 4 in-universe years after using the in-universe equivalent of a nuclear weapon on Theramore & Garrosh trying to use old god magic to ethnically cleanse Azeroth. Whatever good was done in BFA just doesn't amount to much.

We'll just have to disagree I guess.
