I'd prefer they just make the Forest Trolls at this point a Customization option given we have a bunch of troll tribes already coming. But I'd be down for either at this point.

Yup! Like a secondary model of sorts, which would also mean that maybe male humans could use the skinny ones in the future, and so on! Maybe even skeletons for Forsaken, since Mechagnomes and their transmog restrictions are a thing now.

Secondary models pretty much is what allied races are. All of them are sourced from the main race models that just have tweaks to them. Some very few and some pretty major. Forest Trolls would be kinda major since the males are more heavily built than Sand or Jungle Trolls.
