Let characters just rest and exist during the time they did. Stop dredging up the corpses of every character they can think of for nostalgia.

But we're literally going where they go to rest. My only thought against the nostalgia play is one, they would have already brought back Arthas considering how popular he was and it would also be super weird if everyone we met in the ahdowlands were all new characters.

Yes and its a good opportunity to salvage characters that were done wrong, like Kael'thas and Lady Vashj. Characters like Cairne, and ESPECIALLY Arthas, had their narrative arcs satisfyingly closed. Opening them back up can only lead to them ruining it.

I think Cairne wasn't really done the best in World of Warcraft personally. They barely touched him until Shattering.

Not every character has to have a super deep and massive history. Cairne was basically the OG New Horde good guy. And him challenging Garrosh to the Mak'gora was the start of Garrosh's inevitable downfall and one that echoed throughout the story until Saurfang challenged Sylvanas

It doesn't need to be a MASSIVE role but a good cameo isn't bad if it's done right. I think as long as they stay in the Shadowlands it won't demean their deaths.

Their track record of bringing back dead characters has been horrible. Nazgrim's amazing arc got ruined by making him now a bloodthirsty death knight. I don't have faith characters will be both done well and not ruin their old story.

There's going to be a lot of characters coming back in Shadowlands and at the very least they already said they don't want Arthas' return to just be a quick cash grab. They easily could've fanfared a lot of the dead characters returning.
