Every now and again I think about #Shadowlands and how we didn't get a Necromancer as a new class and I get angry about it all over again.

Wanting to play as a frail death Magic caster who summons legions of Skeletons/ghosts/Ghouls/other creatures to do your bidding is not the same class fantasy as wanting to be a big, brutish, plate-wearing monstrosity who is basically a Warrior with squirt of death magic on top.
I guess I just see so many similarities in the gameplay and playstyle. The person controls undead - undead does their bidding. If anything adding Necromancer makes me worry about Unholy Death Knights and what they did to Demonology Locks when Demon Hunters were on the way.

Because the reason why Necromancers are cool is that they're usually frail and/or physically weak but they command legions of the dead. Like how Warlocks are with Demons. They just stole the fantasy of a Necromancer and stuck it onto a boring ass Death Knight.

Also Demonology is much better, imo, and much closer to what the fantasy of a Master Summoner should be, since Demon Hunters came about. Demonology should never have been about turning into a Demon, but controlling a ton and more and more powerful ones.
