We're clearly both set in our opinions on Sylvanas.

Not as much as you think. I HATE Slyvanas and the Forsaken in general. It's 1000% easier to think of them all as Mini Putress's. I just hate to see a character defined by defiance get dragged through the mud to introduce Poochie the Jailer.

It undermines the lore and significance of the Lich King, all three, now that his armor and fantastic powers were just benefits of the armor Poochie left with his bank alt.

The Jailer is more of a stepping stone to push Sylvanas out of the Horde easier/faster. If it wasn't the Jailer it would've been some other entity she'd rely on her for power. She was going to leave the Horde at some point if she didn't change her goals and ways.

That's why it's weird for her character though. She's not a minion. Since the RTS days she's refused to be cowed even killing or enslaving the same Dreadlords who made the Lich King as retribution for them attacking her when she refused to be their servant.

They stated that the Jailer isn't her master. She and the Jailer are partners rather. Hopefully, this is demonstrated in the game showing that they are indeed equal as they described they're working together at last year's Blizzcon.

Guess we'll see if she has better luck with Poochie than Azshara do with N'zoth 5 minutes beforehand.
