"BfA Sylvanas" what's the difference between BfA Sylvanas and good ol' Classic Sylvanas? BfA finally hardpressed the truth about her character. She doesn't care about the Horde. She doesn't care about the Forsaken. This was something placed in her whole story from the start.

Actually, it wasn't. Her motivations have taken their own arc from just wanting revenge against Arthas to protecting the Forsaken and Blood Elves to trying to secure a future for the Forsaken without becoming the new Lich King. Now suddenly she drops those goals entirely?

Her goal is to survive. The Horde and the Forsaken were merely a good wall to lean on to ensure that. Those walls are no longer something she needs to lean on or rely on. In her own words the Forsaken were her bulwark something she can use as a shield.

It may be a story beat from Wrath, but her stated purpose after that wasn't just to never experience that again, but to make sure NO Forsaken experiences that in the future if she can help it. From Cata to Legion that was her sole focus. Now they want to introduce a new BBEG-

Sylvanas from Cataclysm to Legion was -ALWAYS- about survival. That was her main goal. Anything with the Forsaken was to ensure she would survive and live on.
