Keep the factions separate, write them better. BfA failed, but it wasn’t because it had a faction war, but because the faction war was told badly. The Horde were only fighting “because Sylvanas (who is clearly the villain) said so”. I want well-written faction tension.
MoP handled the faction war the best honestly and it did a really good job of concluding it all at the same time. BfA's felt rushed I do like how they remove the Warchief title finally and better leaders are at long last established but that's really it for its ending.
