I think that was actually touched on in Rise of the Lich King. Kel’Thuzad was starting to look gnarly cause of his necromancy.
I believe also when a Necromancer dies it's like a puddle of flesh and bones happens almost instantly or something like that.

Yeah, they touched on that too. Kel’Thuzad’s corpse after Arthas killed him kicked into ultra decay. They said if they don’t absolutely MASTER the art, that happens. Scary to think that not even Kel’Thuzad had full mastery over necromancy. He probably did in death though.
