yeah right the mana addiction was a factor, but at a certain degree it makes no sense since night elves ally themselves with heavy magic users and uncorrupted eredar. but I digress what I'm saying is that they should've been neutral alongside with some other races and that's all
I think had it not been Battle for Azeroth the next part in the story that might've been a possibility.
