Every time I get excited at the prospects of the story based on theorycrafting, I have that moment: "wtf are you thinking, none of this will happen. Its going to be the most basic storyline possible with no twists or turns or surprises." Garithos will be the villain. That's all

I just have no faith anymore that the story will be anything other than a 13 year old's idea of a generic fantasy where the most obvious storylines always happen. Because I learned to expect that from Legion and BfA. There were never any surprises at any point, ever.
I don't think I'm that far gone as I did enjoy Battle for Azeroth mostly (except for Visions of N'zoth WHICH SHOULD'VE BEEN AN EXPANSION). But the premise of Shadowlands is striking me with Warlords of Draenor flashbacks. I just hope I end up liking it somehow.
