Every time I get excited at the prospects of the story based on theorycrafting, I have that moment: "wtf are you thinking, none of this will happen. Its going to be the most basic storyline possible with no twists or turns or surprises." Garithos will be the villain. That's all
I really hope Shadowlands will be better than I think it is. It's the first expansion where I have a lot of doubts even before its out. It's weird because a lot of people seem to really like Shadowlands as a concept -- I want it to be good but I am just worried.

I just have no faith anymore that the story will be anything other than a 13 year old's idea of a generic fantasy where the most obvious storylines always happen. Because I learned to expect that from Legion and BfA. There were never any surprises at any point, ever.

The Legion? They were just a faceless evil demon army. Sargeras? Just a generic demon lord Teldrassil? Nope it was just Sylvanas being evil Azshara? Nope just freeing N'zoth Sylvanas? Nope just evil. No ulterior motive or plan. Even if I hated her, I still wanted something more.
