Naga were once Night Elves. Do Naga spirits become wisps upon death? Do their spirits revert to their Night Elf form, since their bodies were forcibly twisted against their will? We never touched on this idea and this seems like a really good opportunity.

Yes yes yes, the answer could just be 'no,' but that seems way too boring an idea to just be that concrete on. Azshara was the only Night Elf who willingly submitted to N'zoth's corruption. All the other ones were forcibly changed. And not all Naga were evil or villainous.

Something I found interesting in Naz'jatar was that when the Naga wanted to press into more territory Azshara told them not to due to the Spirits living there. Might've been out of respect but I doubt that. Azshara seems plenty aware of the forces beyond death at the very least.

I would be willing to buy Azshara abusing N'zoth's powers to stay alive post-Sundering and then her stabbing him in the back if they set that up at any point whatsoever. They really don't. They just have her in 8.3 be like, "HERE'S THE DAGGER IT WAS MY PLAN ALL ALONG PROMISE!"

The one cinematic where they're interacting felt like they were at least setting it up that the two weren't on the most "trustful" terms but they didn't do the best of job setting it up seemed very out of the blue (badum ts) with that plot detail.

I mean they weren't trustful at all but that's how she was in the Warbringers cinematic. She was abusing the fact that he needed her, which she brings up again in the 8.2 trailer. But that doesn't inherently imply she was plotting to kill him.

I'm not gonna lie I was fully onboard the "Azshara is gonna betray N'zoth" and "N'zoth is gonna betray Azshara" especially given N'zoth's track record (cough cough Deathwing) they were both crafty villains so it was all a matter of when and not if.
