I would have rather they gave her something to actually do other than have a terrible boss fight and then be a raid boss macguffin in the immediately proceeding raid. Its like they forgot they already had Xal'atath to server as the inevitable expansion-transition character.
I personally wanted her fight to be similar to the LK's in the Halls of Reflection where you're running away from the boss. You still could've had the fight be about the empowering of the Heart -- just have apart of the group going to rescue it while the other distract/run away.

They could have done any number of things. They could have done something really unique and have her just steal the energy from the Heart of Azeroth and you slowly lose access to all your essences over the course of the fight, to where the last phase you have zero.

It just kind of seems insulting to her character where we can't even damage her in the War of the Ancient dungeon and then when she's even more powerful we just straight up kill her.

It also then exposes that her words in 8.3 make no sense whatsoever. If she was just trying to free N'zoth to kill him, why the hell, when she's literally dying at our feet, does she continue to free him anyway before she dies?
