I truly hope nothing on the level of RWBY's "Qrow and Clover can't just be friends cause I saw it in a different way than you did and mine is obviously the way they intended!" Happens, but fortunantly WoW has a generally more stable fanbase.
I think people just really want to see a same-sex couple which is lacking in today's shows, games, etc and that really sucks for people looking for that. But I do think people tend to take it too far at times when it doesn't happen or it's merely implied.

Not be the biggest priority imo, especially considering what is taking place in lore. I think the same of ALL character relationships. While it can be cute, I'd rather not transfer from hellish outworld battlefield to a romantic comedy in quests. Time and place, really.
