I'm gonna give a guess here the book is to help her with her final feelings about joining the Horde after the death of her father. Could also be wearing the Crown has taken its toll on her. Hopefully, by the end she's portrayed as the likable Queen we all know and love.

Yeah, I'm actually okay with this portrayal. I'm glad they're actually addressing the reasonable upset Talanji would have in the face of an armistice after losing her dad, just like I'm glad Tyrande's feelings on Teldrassil aren't ignored. Better closure than nothing at all.
