One thing I hope they answer in Shadowlands is what is the deal with ghosts we still see on Azeroth and interact with?

There's plenty of spirits who're friendly and interact with us. Some even seem to stay voluntarily.

Probably got their spirit travel card and can visit loved ones or their past, or to fulfil their role Wich in life they could not (like the dark iron dwarf spirit who teaches you how to smelt dark iron, or the spirits near Scholomance who sell crafting recipees
