There was definitely Old God stuff in the background of Battle for Azeroth never truly taking the center or main part of the story which is why N'zoth being the finale didn't add up as well. I personally think we should've had a raid against Sylvanas instead or something.
The main issue is we would run into the possibility of another Siege of Orgrimmar but I think it'd be easy if you simply have the raid take place out of Orgrimmar and after Reckoning - where she's no longer Warchief but still poses a threat.
In a more ideal world, I think it would have been decent to essentially come to the conclusions of the war as they have been presented - Tyrande going AWOL to hunt Sylvanas, we make some new allies along the way, perhaps the denizens of Azeroth finally catch a bit of a break. >c
