I really think BfA should've concluded on the Saurfang storyline and N'zoth should've gotten his own expansion then you could have the Shadowlands and Sylvanas storyline focused on. I mean seriously the Reckoning Cinematic and the Epilogue Cinematics there were amazing.

They tried to shove two very large primary stories into an expansion that can only fit one. It's not that I don't think Old Gods can't mix with a faction war either, it's just that one will have to give. The Old God stuff should have been slower and built up to become an expac

There was definitely Old God stuff in the background of Battle for Azeroth never truly taking the center or main part of the story which is why N'zoth being the finale didn't add up as well. I personally think we should've had a raid against Sylvanas instead or something.

They were desperate to have some way to claim: "Oh no no. It's not a faction war/PvP expansion!" So N'zoth was there to kinda try keeping people hooked who vocalized how dull the infighting was at this point.
