I used to RP in Wrath and went to a meeting in Thunder Bluff with a new guild. Out of nowhere, a warlock member uses her Metamorphosis and starts to roar and curse a lot. GM tells everyone else to just "chill", it's our "friendly neighbourhood demon".pic.twitter.com/oj5xEqBe6l

Nobody besides me reacted and, being a RP-noob, I felt bad at the time. Even if I only basically said something to the likes of "that's not right..." In hindsight... turning into a demon randomly in the middle of the city, acting crazy, and then expecting me not to react is...

Been roleplaying for 10 years now & I've made mistakes in that time. However, I have learned a lot since then because people took time out of their days to teach me. But the Warlock Rpers at times took things to OOC at times deeming my characters' "hatred" for demons as racism.

As a long time Warlock RPer I think there's more subtlety than just, 'Don't do it.' You need to think about the story going on atm. Horde Warlocks in Orgrimmar in MoP? No absolutely never at any time. Alliance Warlocks post-WoD? I'd play it by ear.

We saw Varian straight up using Warlocks in War Crimes & talking about how fighting fire with fire is okay and I think in some circumstances it's fine. But going into places like the Cathedral District, for example, is a no no. Very much similar to how Void Elves currently work

I'm not saying Warlocks need to be outlawed (and their demons) from every location or battle there's definitely a place for them still. I'm referring to the fact that Warlock RPers need to keep their demons out of cities.

I didn't say you were...? But again I think you're missing my point here that its way more of a complicated issue than just, "don't do it."

I think I would agree that it definitely depends a lot on context... but still, I would imagine that the general population of Azeroth, even in places like Stormwind or Silvermoon, would probably at least raise an eyebrow at a demon walking around in the Trade district.

I don't roleplay as much as I use to but it was a very big problem mainly during Legion where Warlocks roamed around with their demons out either during the war or after and it was painful.

I mean my guy is an Orc war veteran and he just wants to get a drink. His children are all grown up or dead. His wives are dead. He's alone his friends and leaders are dying and the very army that enslaved and ruined his culture are invading. And Jimmy nearby has a demon out.
