Yeah I totally agree with you there. And Vol'jin's death felt like it was (at the time) meant for shock value. Varok had a very satisfying arc, and I was totally ok with his death (though sad). His arc basically told us that would be the outcome from the beginning.

I will say though, the death of Rastakhan was rough for me. Again, could see it coming a mile off, but still he was a character I had become attached to (especially after Zul's coup where you go get his soul back from Bwansamdi and then following death of Rezan).

Rastakhan definitely did not deserve to show up, be sort of impotent, and then be killed off. I'll stand on my opinion that he should have been maimed, not killed, and forced to take a back seat to Talanji until the day I die.

Rastakhan got the short end of the stick within Battle for Azeroth. Talanji is a great character don't get me wrong, she's one of the greatest additions to the Horde recently. But Rastakhan deserved more time in the spotlight than he got.

100% agreed, hence why I would have preferred he was maimed and rendered unable to participate in fighting, rather than killed off entirely. For years we were told of Rastakhan and Zandalar, only to see him as, in my opinion, a failed character, along with Zandalar society.

I have the feeling that the only major participation of the Zandalari in Shadowlands will be in The Other Side at best, which is a shame - it's more "hey let's make trolls into a joke again" stuff without showing the actual might of the race.

I don't really agree with that. We saw the bulk of the Zandalari and how they were strong at the start. They lost their bulk because of Zul's treachery which involved killing several Loa including the source of Rastakhan's power Rezan.

I suppose I may have read differently into their situation. Rastakhan was said, according to Talanji, unwilling to act despite the obvious signs that his advisers were plotting against him. It's been a while since I did those bits, but if I recall correctly, --

Vol'dun's opener is a good example. You are attacked for inquiring about the missing/exiled guard, and it is made out to be by your inquiries that this isn't an uncommon experience. Looking at other examples, such as the docks and how even other Zandalari are treated, --

Zandalari society has an extreme example of castes, and is stagnating. The advisers send so many to Vol'dun to die, it should have been something that Rastakhan would have seen. He's complacent and not a fantastic character, and this is coming from a Troll fanatic.

Rastakhan is not perfect. That was kind of the point to show he was not the greatest of leaders. But there were times where he showed wisdom and growth during the questline.

Fair point. I just suppose I was disappointed with his portrayal after him being "heard, but not seen" for so long.
