So for some reason, Gelbin Mekkatorque is receiving some form of negativity from the community for returning. As somebody who's been saying Alliance needs to lose more leaders, Gelbin isn't one of them. He's quite honestly one of the better leaders of the Alliance. (1/2)
Many races in WoW need new leaders or changes to how their races are run. Varian had to die to get Anduin's story moving forward for instance. Gelbin barely gets a spotlight and really only got it in Tides of Vengeance and really only the Horde got to see him in action. (2/2)

I haven't seen too many of it. Only going off of people I follow. The forums and the Wowhead comment sections are places I tend to avoid.
I think people are just mad the both he and Jaina had a brush with death in the recent raid and both skipped out of it without any major story repercussions. I'd agree, he's one of the more interesting ones though and I'm glad he didn't die.
It's something I've noticed and pointed countless times. Again I've been advocating that the Horde losing leaders way too often but recently those losses weren't all bad. Only real losses I consider bad recently were Varok and Vol'jin but Varok had a very very good story arc.
Geblin is the unsung hero of the alliance he deserves to around still
Unfortunately, not everyone reads and just sees Gelbin as a joke which is just bloody stupid. I used to not like gnomes very much when I was younger but I warmed up to them. Now gnomes are like my second favorite Alliance race.
//Skoll you're an absolute Legend I'm so happy to see everyone taking in defending Gelbin. It's upsets me to see that people don't take a minute to realize how little Gelbin has actually done to WoW compared to other leaders and still wish he was dead.
