Don't get me wrong the gameplay additions and the customization updates coming to the new races are great. But if you know me I am a story guy. Yeah, we don't know too much on the story but my biggest fear is pulling another WoD & ignoring Azeroth entirely. (2/3)
Still going to give Shadowlands a chance and who knows? Maybe I'll fall in love with it in 2020. For now, though I'm very uncertain where the story will be going. But I'll continue to hope for it be good. (3/3)
For better or worse, we know very very little and right now it's mostly speculation, hopes and fears. Will have to wait for the beta in the worst case but I am sure there will be more interviews, (lore) Q&As and updates until then.
I hope they expand the "Scourge running rampant" post prepatch. In wotlk the SCOURGE was our Main Enemy, and they were held back by Arthas. By now they've surely grown stronger and are no longer held back. This is NOT a PrePatch and DitchIt Situation. This is at least b-plot.
I personally am optimistic about Shadowlands, but the story around Sylvanas really bothers me. Many new occasions and explanations are 100% retcons, but instead of admitting to it, the writers desperately try to convince us that all of this was planned since WotLK.
