Its not that I feel like I'm better than people who do gank Horde (Although I personally find camping people lower level than you distasteful), it's that it's boring. There's no challenge. It's just being a bully toward somebody else who can't stop you. It's a waste of time.
I put myself in other people's shoes usually even in retail when I have Warmode on I don't indistinctly go out to kill the other faction (usually I am using it just to level faster).

Warmode offering mostly pve+leveling benefits practically makes it an anti-pvp mechanic to me. If I see someone in warmode I know they're just someone on a computer trying to get this shit done as timely as possible. Hardly spoiling for a fight.

That's probably what most people are using it for - there's of course always the "don't like getting ganked? don't have warmode on" but it has the massive draw of increased experience and at max level, increased rewards from WQs. If I want to do PvP, I'll queue for it.
