See, you're largely at the same place I am. While I don't have the same contempt for the concept of Lightforged Undead, they definitely don't blend well with Forsaken culture as it's been for fifteen years. And it DEFINITELY doesn't work at the top. In the Alliance? Eh. Maybe.

One can hope
One thing I realized (working on a script about Horde leaders & such in 8.3) is that Calia wants Derek to help her lead & if there's anyone who has suffered in undeath I would argue Derek has had that even if he's been dead shorter than Calia has. It's a thought to think about.

I'd just really love for some explanation on what Calia or Derek's credentials to advise undead who have been dead for far longer than them are, let alone lead.

It's less about leadership and more about providing them some hope. Sylvanas focused a lot on the negative aspects of being undead and that nobody will accept you for this. Calia is the opposite in that. So I guess we're going to have those two ideas bleed into one another.

Derek was dead back in the third war. He was pulled back from the black in far more ragged a stated.

I suppose I more meant he's been undead for not as long as Calia but Derek has been dead for quite some time and has to deal with life going on without him and being rejected by country and family.
