Nathanos wasn't even the big villain of Gilneas, it was Sylvanas. I don't even think he was there.
I'm guessing Sylvanas and Nathanos were setting up shop in Gilneas or that's where Sylvanas sent Nathanos. Not sure. I think the Gilneans deserve to retake their home and if Nathanos is preventing that then I'd say it is worth it.

Its just super confusing. Sylvanas escapes but then Nathanos and her surviving forces go to...Gilneas? Nathanos dying in a race heritage armor quest would be incredibly surprising. If anything it would be way more appropriate for him to die in a Night Elf heritage armor quest.
