If they did want Anduin to have kids and he was gay they could always go for a surrogate if his better half was unable to birth kiddos. That way you would still have an heir to Stormwind and Anduin could be with the person he loves.

Shipping can ruin a story if done improperly. Love is generally hard to write for, at least for me, but considering most relationships in WoW feel genuine I believe they could pull it off so long as it doesn't feel forced. It's clear they're setting up Anduin with Taelia.
