If they did want Anduin to have kids and he was gay they could always go for a surrogate if his better half was unable to birth kiddos. That way you would still have an heir to Stormwind and Anduin could be with the person he loves.

I don't think it ruins the Wrynn line and nor do I think it breaks "medieval time/fantasy" WoW is more like a steampunk-fantasy now anyways I don't think gay characters or black skin characters really break the lore either.

I don't hate Anduin and he was pretty heavily involved enough as an Ambassador and negotiator with the Horde. I think it's a great mistake of viewing Anduin "not doing anything" because he's not fighting. Talking and making steps for peace is a big thing to do.
