I know he did. But still. Why not just kill Sylvanas at Teldrassil itself? It would have started a rebellion, yes but it would also have ended it at the same time
That's implying they could kill Sylvanas at Teldrassil. Unfortunately, she's a tricky character and a lot of the Horde did cheer at Teldrassil's destruction. Hatred for Sylvanas had to fester and grow before any rebellion against her could start.

Still wouldn't be a wise move on anyone's part even if Sylvanas was deserving of it. Again the Horde had just burned down Teldrassil and killing Sylvanas would have consequences from the Horde, mainly the Forsaken and they'd also have to deal with a ticked off Alliance.
