I've seriously thought about this too. Why can't we take the kind-hearted community of Classic and take it into BfA? Certainly, we can't take every single aspect but I could see us take some of them. Buffing people, providing food, helping others fight mobs, group up. Etc.

I spent ten minutes today, trying to teach a new player how to use Arcane Intellect in a random LFD dungeon. I was nice about it in whispers, but they still either would not do it, or would not learn how to do it. At this point, I think it's that the game is not teaching players.

When I was new to the game in Cataclysm, if a mob went into melee range (Hunter), you couldn't use ranged attacks anymore, and this hurt both your healthbar and damage done. Noticeably - even to a new player like me. This naturally taught me the importance of kiting as I leveled.

So when MoP came out, and this aspect of Hunters was removed, it was suddenly really obvious who the new Hunters were, and who the old ones were based on how much they moved. I think the real issue is the game's design itself. It's streamlined, but not instructive.

I went a little off the topic, but I think the real issue comes down to the fundamental design of current WoW: People are now used to just pressing buttons and not thinking about how they play the game. And I'd argue that this has carried over to the social aspects as well.

I definitely think the current day WoW is a lot easier than Classic. Things like the Mage Tower and Mythic Plus allow those who really know what they're doing express it more. I think the best thing is to add more things like this in the current day game.

While those are cool, I really think more needs to be done at the level of beginner questing. It's more complicated than I can explain over Twitter, but I think we need questing like the Timeless Isle - as that zone secretly taught players the basics of raiding.

It's highly possible we're looking at a level revamp and even a world revamp. So one can hope they do something along those lines. I remember I believe it was MoP or WoD where if you wanted to do dungeons you had to do the White Tiger's trial in a scenario.
