I've seriously thought about this too. Why can't we take the kind-hearted community of Classic and take it into BfA? Certainly, we can't take every single aspect but I could see us take some of them. Buffing people, providing food, helping others fight mobs, group up. Etc.

The game doesn't really incentive it. Nobody needs help fighting mobs, you can pull dozens of them and make it out without a scratch. You recharge health lightning fast and barely use mana so food/drink isn't really needed while leveling.

Buffs are fun to use in classic because you aren't exactly doing anything else and they genuinely do help the other player. In retail everyones riding heirloom mounts or spread out too far and too thin. You're lucky to see another person while leveling at all.

I'd love to see it all make a comeback, but for cooperation to happen the majority of players need the push of "I can't do this alone."

It's not that retail is full of assholes or classic is full of good samaritans. One game promotes co-op and communication to get by and the other streamlined it all out years ago.

The average joe just wants to get to get to cap, whats he gonna do? Rely on the untested or click a button to join a random group to down the mob and move on?

Like I said not everything can be presented in the same way in Classic. But I've had my fair share even on a full-on heriloomed character of needing help in doing a quest or two. But yes, there isn't as much of an incentive to help each other in current day WoW when we're gods.

Mhm, classic isn't really for me (not big on literally taking steps back to 2004) but I'd love it if 9.0 took a few cues and knocked us down a few pegs. Brought back sandbox rpg aspect and forced its players to think about how and where they were going to level.

I feel the same way. There is some good things in Classic like the Class Quests and the feeling that any mob or creature can get the jump on you. But there's a lot in Classic I truly do not like and cannot stand.

It might be a bit too late for 9.0 looking at development cycles and everything but I can certainly see it happening for 10.0, assuming Classic keeps on going strong and not fizzling out after three months. Or they double down on the retail direction and classic as "alternative"

I don't think we'll get a "Classic 2.0" in retail but I can see them taking some things to heart. Making a full-on classic in retail would, in my eyes, not be the best move.

Oh, no no, less a sharp turn into the classic direction but more of... a curve back to what people like about classic. To sharp of a turn and you'll just throw everyone off the vehicle, quite literally My wishes could be summed up as "put the RPG back in MMORPG" (and MMO too)
