People who like something you don't aren't "misguided". They don't need you to show them the error of their ways for having a different opinion.

Making negative comments to show that "you were right all along", "it's just a phase" or trying to somehow prove that people liking a thing you don't are inherently wrong is just toxic and depressing. Stop it.

There's plenty of things that I've disliked or had strong opinions on why it's bad/flawed. Here's what I did: I didn't comment, and I went and played something I liked instead, that way the people who follow me who DO like said thing, don't have to read me putting them down.

Am I talking about Classic WoW? Retail WoW? Minecraft? Dizzy Egg on the ZX Spectrum? It doesn’t bloody matter. The point stands for everything. Negative opinions are not constructive and you’re just trying to make people feel bad.

Instead of posting how bad a game is, or how misguided it’s fans are, why not post about how good a game -you- enjoy is? It’s positive, and it might even convince people to try the game you like.
