I remember when someone mentioned about that as to why blizz went whit that kind of story which is a big deal and love Metzen !! But if they really wanted to respect both his oc and him they should let Thrall to rest for good cause now him coming back kinda messes it up.
Except Chris said in tweets he loved voicing Thrall and his question at Blizzcon was when was the true Warchief coming back. I think ultimately we don't know what Chris fully wants but I do think he has a say-so in Thrall so maybe he does want this focus on Thrall again.
