I've been thinking this for a while but I fully believe that Helya is an agent for Yogg-saron and that her Kvaldir (which Vrykul were also actively allied to Yoggy at times) warred with the naga because N'zoth and Yoggy were fighting over territory in the seas.pic.twitter.com/rYeE6jg7KC

They don't need to be under an Old God's influence the way that Yogg-saron could get to them is VIA Helya who clearly has an influence on them.
