Honestly I wish they showed more detrimental effects, like zones -dying- from the mining and draining of events, or showing more of the "azerite is filled with the pain of Azeroth". Or maybe just...not have it be so pretty. Maybe keep the foreboding, red energy from the sword.
They could keep some of the azerite looking pretty when it matters but having it turn red when shit gets real would've worked out well.
From what I understand they had something similar to that, where your whole screen/area in the heart chamber would go all dark and red like when Jani talks to you. Additionally, the art for the island expeditions shows a slight hint of red between the blue and gold of azerite.
