new question: Maybe Saurfang should have challenged Sylvanas to a Mak'gora instead of conspiring with the Alliance

Saurfang challenged Malfurion to a Mak'gora and Malfurion really didn't give a care in the world for it and I don't think Sylvanas would either. Only way Sylvanas would play along if there was an audience of the Horde to see it. Sylvanas plays to win, not to play fair.

That's a hell of an assumption to make. Especially when the Before the Storm prologue unambiguously establishes Sylvanas doesn't even want to be Warchief

Sylvanas not wanting to be Warchief is hard to pinpoint as she played a game with his sisters that established she might be proud to be Warchief, but she is a known liar.

But it was from her internal monologue from the Before the Storm book. And what does the fight with Malfurion have to do with challenging a warchief to honorable combat if you don't like how they're running the horde?

I was using it as an example of if the combatant of the other side doesn't care much for the rules or the mak'gora itself. Sylvanas' consistent goal has been to not die and a mak'gora to this extreme would likely cost her it. (1/2)

And if Sylvanas truly didn't like the position of Warchief she would've stepped down or allowed her contenders to take it. Thus far she's been trying to remove the players who would oppose her. (2/2)
