Saurfang challenged Malfurion to a Mak'gora and Malfurion really didn't give a care in the world for it and I don't think Sylvanas would either. Only way Sylvanas would play along if there was an audience of the Horde to see it. Sylvanas plays to win, not to play fair.

Saurfang admitted that it was dishonorable which is what caused the whole Teldrassil incident in the first place. Though it makes you wonder what would've happened if Saurfang didn't intervene with their fight.
